F.A.Q.s

What is the normal penis size?

Based on medical research a normal penis should have the following measures :

  • flaccid length: 9,16 (+/- 1,57) cm
  • flaccid circumference: 9,31 (+/- 0,9) cm
  • erect length (measured from the pubic bone): 13,12 (+/- 1,66) cm
  • erect circumference: 11,66 (+/- 1,1) cm

Who is a candidate for penile enlargement?

Individuals over 18 years old with no significant comorbidities are candidates for this type of procedure.

Are there any contraindications for these procedures?

People with a very high body mass index are considered unsuitable for penile lengthening surgery due to poor results. On the other hand, people with very low fat percentages are unsuitable for surgical penis enlargement. In any case, patients with multiple health problems are not considered candidates for such operations. Regarding fillers, the only contraindication is a history of an allergic reaction to a hyaluronic acid and its derivatives, though by using the best quality fillers this is not a problem.

In any case it is of prime importance to discuss your case with an experienced surgeon who will guide you in deciding what is right for you and avoid mistakes and disappointing results.

Are penis enlargement techniques safe?

In experienced hands and with proper guidance these techniques are safe and can give you excellent results.

Unfortunately, in recent years, due to the special interest in this type of surgery, there are many health professionals who offer this type of service without the necessary training and experience. This has led in several cases to significant problems for patients and the general perception that these operations are associated with an increased risk of complications.

Can these types of operations affect fertility, erection or urination?

No, if performed correctly they do not affect the erection, urination and fertility of the patient at all.

Is penile enlargement surgery a procedure that can be performed by any surgeon?

Certainly not, this kind of surgery is performed by highly specialised Urologists. This procedure can be life changing if it goes wrong and therefore you should only trust Urologists with no less than 1000 penoplasty operations performed. At this level you can be assured that everything will be done with the highest possible standards.

How long after filler treatment can I resume sexual activity?

Usually sexual activities can be resumed after 1 week unless your doctor advises otherwise.

How long do I need to take off work after filler treatment?

The advantage of treatment with fillers is that you do not need to take time off work. You can return to your daily routine immediately after the procedure.

How long does the filler treatment last for?

This varies from patient to patient and the filler used. The results will subside gradually and the process can take anything from 6 months to two years. We advise using premium fillers that last from 18-24 months.

Most patients will require a top up every 18-24 months to retain the same girth.

How much filler do I need?

Most men will need anything between 10 and 30ml depending on the results they wish to achieve and also their current penis size. Generally we suggest aiming for a result that will look proportional and aesthetically pleasing. Our usual practice is to begin with 10-15 ml and if necessary top-up until the patient is satisfied with the result.

What are the potential complications of penis fillers?

The most common issues for dermal fillers in general is an initial discomfort or temporary swelling and bruising. Fillers can also result in cysts, bumps, lumps (called nodules), skin irregularities, and/or inflamed tissue that persist. Allergic reactions are rare, especially with today’s newest fillers. If you are affected by cold sores, dermal fillers can trigger a breakout. Infection is always possible but it’s extremely rare and easily treated.

The most typical concerns regarding dermal fillers involve the results of the procedure. Problems such as poor or inaccurate placement, unevenness, and migration can happen. Those complications are directly related to the experience of your surgeon. For that reason you should not trust a Urologist with less than 1000 procedures performed.

What results can I expect from penile enlargement surgery?

About 95% of our patients get an extra 2-5 cm in flaccid length and a minimum of 20% increase in the flaccid girth. Overall in the vast majority of cases the size of the penis almost doubles in size.

Is penile enlargement surgery permanent?

The results of a penis enlargement operation are permanent in most patients.

For length enhancement, the immediate results will improve over time if you perform post-operative stretching exercises. For girth enhancement with autologous fat injection, most men retain around 60% of the gain you will see immediately after the surgery. This is for two reasons:

  •  You will have some swelling after the operation, which when subsides some of the gain will reduce naturally
  • We know that some of the injected fat will be absorbed by the body – how much absorbed is, unfortunately, patient dependent but on average it will be no more than 30-40%.

How long do I need to stay in the hospital?

Penis enlargement surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and takes about an hour. After the operation, you would need to stay in the hospital for another 4-5 hours. When you are able to eat, drink and mobilise independently you can return home.

What do I need to do after my operation?

Following your surgery you will receive detailed written instructions about what you need to do and what is mandatory to avoid. You will also have a bandage ,for which you will have instructions on when it will be removed.

The first in-office review is usually 4 weeks after the operation, unless any issues arise.Until then you will be in close contact with us asking for regular updates and also addressing any concerns you might have.A few days after your surgery you would need to start with post-operative rehabilitation, which involves manual penile stretching and daily gentle massaging. You will be taught on how to perform those as our technique differs from the usual one and significantly reduces postoperative problems.

How long after surgery can I resume sexual activity ?

Usually sexual activities can be resumed after 4-6 weeks depending on the technique used.

How long do I need to take off work for my operation?

Most patients can return to work 2-3 days after their operation. If your work involves heavy physical activity, then you may need some more time to recover.

What are the potential complications of surgery?

Penis enlargement surgery is minimally invasive and most complications are minor and can be sorted in the office.

Most patients will experience some swelling of the penis, which will subside after the first few days from the operation as well as minimal scarring at the incision site. Rare complications may include bleeding, infection ,localised tissue damage (blood vessels, nerves, penis glans, urethra), temporary/ permanent glans numbness and penile retraction. Like any surgical operation, some patients might not be satisfied with their gain in size and the aesthetic outcome of the results, which in some rare cases might be less profound than expected.

Our satisfaction rate exceeds 95% and the overall rate of significant complications is far below average at less than 0.5%.

During your pre-operative consultation, you will be informed extensively about the risks of the operation and your surgeon will answer any questions that you may have.
